An election is the process of voting to choose someone to be their political leader or representative in the goverment of a country, In this case colombia.
Elections are the way people can decide who rules over their own country, candidates present their ideals, or plan of action which is the way to persuade citizens or voters, this is to create campaign and also to gain followers, each candidate tries to persuade the whole country to vote for him or her, but there are too many candidates and people decide to vote for one of them, this plan of action is the action of doing a campaign to promote the "what would i do if i win elections" and with that people can vote for what they think could be better for the country, this elections are every four years, for this year in may, and this is for the presidential election.
now for the other elections that are called legislative elections, this elections are for electing the congress; the house of representatives and also the senate candidates, these elections were in march 11th of 2018.
In these elections happened to many things such as bad as good things.
the bad things that happened in this elections were something called vote buying makes the election process transparentof the candidates another negative thing about this process was that not all citizens vote conscientiously if they do not vote just to sell the vote or sell it by political influence or for what suits them, also this past elections make evidence of the serious problems of the Colombian electoral system and its vulnerability to fraud and acts of corruption this following to favor one or other candidate, also the electoral process does not only have inner threats but also they have threats that are over the electoral authorities,which are also associated to criminals, corruption and vote-selling.
there are also good things from this elections and are that besides all of the problems and complications, every citizen of colombia can choose a candidate that citizen believe could take colombia in a positive emergence in terms of economic, political, social, cultural and tourist aspects, etc, in these elections also there a great variety of candidates and colombians have the right to choose the ones they believe are better for the country and the development of the laws, both in the senate and also the congress of the republic. another positive aspect about these elections is that the citizens have they have many voting points in the country and in each city there are many and they have the possibility of registering their id card and choosing the closest point to them.
there are both bad and good aspects about the elections, but most of all thse candidates elections are very interesting because each person have different perspectives and also each candidate has different ideologys and we dont know which one of them will lead our country to the best financial and cultural aspects, and also is very interesting that much of the people has the vote in blank cause they are opposing to all of the candidates like a way of movement and a strike, but also we have to take into account that the elections are very important because this are done every 4 years so its time enough so the country could have loose and also loose touristical aspects and others.
